View the breakdown

The breakdown lists each scene of the screenplay with the characters, items, and places it needs, so departments can see what every scene requires. It's always up to date with the script, and it's read-only: you change it by linking text in the screenplay.

A summary at the top counts the character, item, and place references across all scenes. Below it, each scene appears with its number and heading, and its Characters, Items, and Places.
  2. To open a character, item, or place in the catalog, click its name.

To go back to the script, click ‹ Back to editor at the top left.

Add to the breakdown

A scene shows a character, item, or place when it's linked in that scene's text — for example, a character cue, a place you chose in the scene heading, or a prop you linked in the action. If a scene shows "No characters, items or places tagged for this scene yet.", link the text in the editor:

  1. In the editor, select the name of the character, item, or place.
  2. Choose Insert > Entity link…, then choose the catalog entry, or create a new one.

The breakdown updates as soon as you link the text. See Link script text to the catalog.
