Intro to working faster in FilmKit

Once you know your way around a project, a few habits save time every day. You can jump anywhere with the command palette, keep your hands on the keyboard, follow your shooting days in your own calendar app, and install FilmKit like any other app on your device.

The Keyboard shortcuts sheet open over the schedule, with the Schedule grid shortcuts listed.

The command palette

The search box at the top of every project and space is also the command palette. Press ⌘+K anywhere in a project or space, then type to search the project or to run a command, such as going to the schedule or creating a character. See Search and jump with the command palette.

Keyboard shortcuts

Each screen lists the shortcuts that work on it. Press ? to see them. The On Set log and the schedule grid have their own single-key shortcuts, so you can log takes or move through time slots without the pointer. See Keyboard shortcuts.

Your account

Account Settings holds the things that belong to you rather than to a space: your avatar, the passkeys you sign in with, your language and timezone, and your personal calendar link. See Change account settings.

Your schedule in your calendar

When a production sends you call sheets, FilmKit can put those shooting days in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook through one subscription link. See Subscribe to your schedule in a calendar app.

The FilmKit app

You can install FilmKit from your browser so it opens in its own window from your dock, home screen, or app launcher. A project that's already open keeps working if the connection drops, and your changes sync when you reconnect. See Install FilmKit and work offline.
