Subscribe to your schedule in a calendar app

You can follow your shooting days in the calendar app you already use. Your personal calendar feed is one link that collects the days from every production you're linked to as a contact, so they appear next to the rest of your life.

Each shooting day you've been sent a call sheet for appears as one event, with your call time, the estimated wrap, the location, a link to confirm your call, and the call sheet itself when it's ready. When the production republishes a call sheet, the event updates in your calendar instead of appearing twice.

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose Account Settings.
  2. In the Calendar feed card, click Create calendar link.
The link appears in the card, with the date it expires.
  3. Click Copy link.

Subscribe in your calendar app

Paste the link where your calendar app adds a calendar by URL. Do one of the following:

  • Apple Calendar on a Mac: Choose File > New Calendar Subscription, then paste the link.
  • Google Calendar: Next to Other calendars, click the Add button, choose From URL, then paste the link.
  • Outlook: Choose Add calendar > Subscribe from web, then paste the link.

Your calendar app checks the link regularly for changes. How often depends on the app.

Do any of the following in the Calendar feed card:

  • Replace the link: Click Generate new link. The old link stops working, so update the subscription in your calendar app with the new one.
  • Stop the feed: Click Revoke, then click Revoke again to confirm. Calendar apps subscribed to the link stop receiving updates.

The link lasts about nine months. When it's close to expiring, FilmKit extends it the next time you open Account Settings; the link itself stays the same.

If you open Account Settings on another device, the card says the link is active but can't show it there. To see a link on that device, click Generate new link, then update your calendar subscription.

Production staff can also give each person on a call sheet a calendar link for only that production. These links are in the call sheet's distribution list. See Create and publish call sheets.
