Change account settings

You can change the settings that belong to you personally, rather than to a space or project: your avatar, the passkeys you sign in with, and the language and timezone FilmKit uses for dates, times, and numbers.

To open your account settings, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose Account Settings.

Change your avatar

Your avatar appears in your account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.

  1. In Account Settings, go to the Avatar card.
  2. Click the file field, then choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image.
FilmKit uploads and saves the image right away, and shows "Avatar saved."

To remove your avatar, click Remove Avatar, then click Remove Avatar again to confirm. Your initials appear instead.

Add a passkey

FilmKit has no passwords: you sign in with a passkey stored on your device or in your password manager. Add a passkey for each device you use, or use one that syncs across your devices. See Sign in with a passkey.

  1. In Account Settings, go to the Passkeys card.
  2. Click Add Passkey.
  3. Follow your browser's or device's instructions to create the passkey, for example with Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a security key.
The new passkey appears in the list.

Rename a passkey

Give each passkey a name you'll recognize, such as the device it's on.

  1. In the Passkeys card, click the Rename button next to the passkey.
  2. Enter a new name, then click Save.

Delete a passkey

Delete a passkey when you no longer use the device it's on, or if you lose that device.

  1. In the Passkeys card, click the Delete button next to the passkey.
  2. Click Delete passkey.
The passkey can no longer be used to sign in to FilmKit.

Change your language and timezone

FilmKit uses your language and timezone to format dates, times, and numbers in exports and schedules.

  1. In Account Settings, go to the Preferences card.
  2. Choose a language from the Language menu.
  3. Choose your timezone from the Timezone menu.
  4. Click Save Changes.
