Share a screenplay for comments or review

You can let someone read a screenplay and give feedback without giving them access to the rest of the project. There are two access levels:

  • Can comment: The person reads the script and adds comment threads.
  • Can review: The person can also suggest changes. Their edits become suggestions that you accept or reject.

Neither level lets the person change the script directly. They see only the screenplays, not the schedule, contacts, or other parts of the project.

Invite someone by email

  1. In the editor, click Share in the toolbar (or choose File > Share screenplay…).
  2. Enter the person's email address, choose Can comment or Can review, then click Invite.

The person gets an email with a link. When they open it and sign in (or create an account), the access is added to their account and the screenplay opens in the editor.

A review link works for anyone who has it, with or without a FilmKit account.

  1. In the editor, click Share.
  2. Under Review links, choose the access level and how long the link works.
  3. To share a version you issued instead of the working script, choose it under Version.
  4. Click Create link, then click Copy link and send it.
The link is shown only once. If you lose it, create a new one.

People who open the link read the screenplay and add comments under a name they enter. Their comments appear in the Comments tab of the side panel, marked as a guest. If they're signed in, they can click Add to my account to open the screenplay in the editor instead.

Change or remove access

  1. In the editor, click Share.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • Change someone's level: Choose a different level next to their name.
    • Remove someone: Click Remove next to their name.
    • Cancel an invitation: Click Revoke next to the pending invitation.
    • Stop a review link working: Click Revoke next to the link.
