Crew Hiring
Crew hiring is FilmKit's tool for filling the jobs behind the camera. It's a sibling of casting, but simpler: a crew posting is tied to a department and role, and crew express interest with a note — there are no auditions or self-tapes.
Crew postings
From a project's Crew section, create a posting with . A posting captures the title, role and department, description, location, dates, rate, and whether it's a union job, and then you publish it.
On a posting's detail page you can edit it, mark it filled, close it, or reopen it. Only open postings appear publicly and accept interest.
Interest and hiring
Each posting gathers an interests table. Every expression of interest shows the crew member's note and an attached showreel you can view, along with a status.
When you find the right person, opens a dialog to capture their name, email, and phone. That creates a space contact, adds them to the project roster as crew with the posting's role and department, and marks the interest hired.
The public crew job board
Published postings appear on FilmKit's public, search-indexed crew job board:
- Browse and filter open jobs by department and role, with rate, location, dates, and union status shown at a glance.
- A job page shows the full brief and emits structured data for job search engines.
- Crew express interest as one of their crew profiles, optionally attaching a showreel and a note, and track everything from a personal My interests dashboard.
